This debut album marks a new chapter in the band's journey, and they're eagerly anticipating sharing it with their fanbase.
Infusing classic indie rock influences from The La’s, Arctic Monkeys, Sam Fender, The Streets, Fleetwood Mac, and MGMT, the band has crafted a sound that's refreshingly unique.
Inspired by their upbringing in Kirkcaldy, vocalists/guitarists Darren Forbes and Lewis McDonald weave evocative tales of small-town life, aiming for uplifting songs even when addressing social issues.
Darren clarified, “We aimed for uplifting songs, even when dealing with social issues. It’s about finding hope in the bleakest times and offering an escape for young people facing challenging situations.”
With upcoming tour dates across the UK alongside Little Man Tate and The View, Shambolics' infectious blend of rock, pop, dreamy synths, and punk intensity continues to captivate audiences.
Their single, "Never Be Mine," narrates the fleeting escape of a couple's relationship, acknowledging the transient nature without verbalizing it.
Produced by Chris Marshall (Gerry Cinnamon), the album takes listeners on a journey from synth-pop featuring The View’s Kyle Falconer to biting satire on Universal Credit and uplifting anthems like "Everything You Should’ve Done."
Having formed in 2018, Shambolics earned praise from music mogul Alan Mcgee and signed with Creation23 in 2019. Their debut single, 'Chasing a Disaster,' hit number two on the UK Official Vinyl Charts.
Throughout the pandemic, they showcased cover versions online and released tracks under Eggman Records. Last October, they signed with Manchester indie label Scruff of the Neck Records.
From packed headline shows to festival appearances and airplay on 6 Music, Radio X, and Amazing Radio, Shambolics' rise has been steady. The album is available for pre-order, featuring digital and physical formats like black vinyl, CD, and cassette.
