The saying goes, "never meet your heroes"

In a twist of fate, I found myself on the cusp of a documentary photographers dream, about to meet the legendary Oasis frontman, Noel Gallagher. Our connection was a Manchester mutual friend, and six months before the onset of the dreaded COVID-19, we were set to arrange a meeting. However, fate had different plans, and our plans were abruptly halted.

Fast forward to last week in Glasgow, as Noel Gallagher took the stage with his High Flying Birds at the city's hydro. Against the odds, we managed to re-establish contact. True to his word, Noel extended a massive trust – an invitation to the sound check with the freedom to document the experience with my camera behind the scenes.

Noel, who had never met me before, was on top form. He graciously took time out for me, and the Glasgow concert surpassed all expectations, proving that Noel Gallagher only gets better with age.

For me, this experience was about more than just meeting a musical icon; it was about documenting history. The saying goes, "never meet your heroes," but in this case, looking back in wonder replaces any hint of regret or disappointment. Thanks to Noel Gallagher, this encounter this will "Live Forever"! and will be etched in the archives of my memories.
